Dyne adds a longer view of z-basivarsen in myotonic dystrophy
Dyne Therapeutics reported additional 12-month data from a pooled dose group in the Phase 1/2 ACHIEVE trial of z-basivarsen for myotonic dystrophy type 1. The company said participants showed improvement from baseline across measures of myotonia, function, strength and patient-reported health, with comparisons to placebo at six months and a matched natural-history cohort at 12 months.
The analysis combined several dose schedules, and only 8 of 26 participants received the planned registrational dose for the full 12 months. Dyne expects blinded registrational-expansion data in the first quarter of 2027 and is also running the Phase 3 HARMONIA study.
Why it matters
Longer follow-up sharpens the questions that clinical, biometrics and regulatory teams must answer next. The pooled, mixed-dose analysis is supportive evidence, not the registrational readout, and the announcement did not describe a staffing change.

GSK selects a Wave hepatology siRNA candidate
Wave Life Sciences said GSK selected a hepatology candidate built with Wave's SpiNA GalNAc-siRNA design to enter GSK's development pipeline. The selection triggers a $12 million payment to Wave; three additional collaboration programs are still advancing toward possible candidate selection.

Pharmazz clears a U.S. IND for a pivotal TBI study
Pharmazz said the FDA cleared its IND for a randomized Phase 3 trial of sovateltide in 214 adults with acute moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury. The planned primary endpoint is favorable functional recovery at day 90, with mortality, disability, hospital stay, biomarkers and safety among the secondary measures.
IND clearance authorizes the study to proceed; it does not mean enrollment has started or that the treatment is approved in the United States.

Candel links local treatment to broader immune activity
Candel Therapeutics reported integrated clinical and biomarker findings for aglatimagene in intermediate-risk localized prostate cancer. The company highlighted longer-term outcomes from its Phase 3 subgroup and early flow-cytometry findings from 19 Phase 2 participants that suggested expansion and activation of circulating cytotoxic T cells.
The systemic biomarker analysis is early and formal comparison with standard-of-care controls is ongoing. Candel said biodistribution and shedding data remain planned for a fourth-quarter BLA submission.
