JobReports ("we", "our", or "us") helps users discover relevant jobs, understand fit, and prepare application materials. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who helps us process it, and how you can manage or delete your data.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use JobReports, we collect:
- Account data: name, email address, password authentication data, invite code status, and account settings.
- Profile and career data: phone number if provided, location if provided, job preferences, work authorization preferences, salary preferences, resume text, resume-builder entries, publications, projects, skills, and generated profile summaries.
- Job activity: jobs shown to you, AI match scores and explanations, favorites, unlocks, applications, feedback signals, search queries, and generated application materials.
- Payment and subscription data: product, entitlement, subscription status, credits, and payment processor identifiers. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Device and security data: authentication/session tokens, IP-derived request metadata, reCAPTCHA verification results, App Attest data when enabled, audit events, and iOS push notification device tokens if notifications are enabled.
- Support and email data: messages you send us and email delivery records for password resets, resume PDFs, or application materials you request.
2. How We Use Information
- Authenticate your account, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
- Parse your resume and profile so we can match jobs to your background and preferences.
- Score jobs, explain fit, generate cover letters/resume materials, and improve matching quality.
- Track favorites, applications, unlocks, feedback, credits, subscriptions, and product access.
- Send password reset emails, requested materials, service messages, and push notifications if enabled.
- Debug, protect, measure, and improve JobReports. We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI Processing
JobReports uses AI to analyze resume/profile content, produce matching signals, score relevant jobs, explain fit, and generate application materials. Resume, profile, job, and application-context data may be sent to AI providers such as OpenAI only for these service functions. Do not add information to your resume or profile that you do not want processed for job matching and application support.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with service providers that help us operate JobReports. These providers are expected to protect user data consistently with this policy and use it only to provide services to us.
- AI providers, including OpenAI, to analyze resumes, score job matches, build matching profiles, and generate application materials.
- Infrastructure providers, including hosting, database, storage, email, and monitoring providers, to operate and secure JobReports.
- Authentication and anti-abuse providers, including Apple, Google Sign-In, Google reCAPTCHA, and Apple App Attest where applicable.
- Payment providers, including Apple StoreKit for iOS in-app purchases and Stripe for web billing where available.
- Apple Push Notification service when you enable iOS notifications.
5. App Store Privacy Summary
For App Store privacy disclosures, JobReports collects data linked to your account for app functionality, product personalization, security, and payment/subscription management. We do not use collected data for third-party advertising and do not sell it to data brokers. If our practices change, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy responses.
6. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards including HTTPS, password hashing, access controls, token-based authentication, audit logging, and encrypted storage for sensitive resume/profile artifacts. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong unique password and protect your account access.
7. Your Choices and Account Deletion
- You can update profile and job-preference information in your account settings.
- You can disable push notifications in iOS system settings.
- You can request account deletion in the app or by contacting us.
- When an account is deleted, we remove or anonymize account, resume/profile, matching, feedback, application, generated-material, session, and device-token data tied to that account, except where retention is required for legal, security, payment, or abuse-prevention reasons.
8. Data Retention
We keep account data while your account is active and retain operational records only as long as needed for service, security, billing, compliance, backup, or dispute purposes. Deleted-account data may remain in backups or external payment records for a limited period where deletion is not technically immediate or legally appropriate.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website uses browser storage for authentication/session state and may use cookies or scripts required for security, sign-in, billing, and anti-abuse checks such as Google reCAPTCHA. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling required storage may prevent sign-in or registration from working.
10. Children
JobReports is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
