Lead story

Oncology / Dose selection

SystImmune selects an iza-bren dose for its global Phase 3 lung-cancer study

SystImmune said a randomized global Phase 1 dose-expansion cohort in previously treated EGFR-mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer supported 2.5 mg/kg on days 1 and 8 of a three-week cycle as the recommended Phase 3 dose for iza-bren.

The company described encouraging antitumor activity and a manageable safety profile, but its announcement did not provide numerical response or safety results. A fuller presentation is scheduled for September 14 at the World Conference on Lung Cancer. Iza-bren, an EGFRxHER3 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate, is being developed with Bristol Myers Squibb.

Why it matters

Dose selection is a concrete handoff from expansion work toward registrational execution, concentrating attention on global trial operations, biometrics, safety, regulatory strategy, and ADC development. It is not proof of clinical benefit or an announced hiring expansion.

Manufacturing / Five-year contract

Cosmos adds a five-year cardiovascular manufacturing program

Cosmos Health said subsidiary Cana Laboratories will manufacture approximately 500,000 units of ROSARTIA annually for Viofar, or about 2.5 million units over five years. The rosuvastatin program runs through Cana's 54,000-square-foot GMP-licensed facility in Athens, Greece, and lifts the company's stated contract-manufacturing orderbook above 27.5 million units.

A recurring production program adds visible load across manufacturing, quality, supply planning, and technical operations. The release did not announce headcount growth or U.S. hiring.

Radiotherapy / Platform integration

Accuray and RaySearch pair treatment hardware with adaptive-planning software

Accuray and RaySearch entered a definitive collaboration to combine Accuray's radiation-treatment and imaging platforms with RayStation planning and RayCare workflow software for online adaptive radiotherapy. The initial work targets Radixact, with CyberKnife expected later.

Accuray agreed to buy specified RayStation licenses with an $8 million total order value. The companies plan joint marketing and support, subject to regulatory clearance in some markets.

Vision science / Federal research award

PerZeption wins an NEI Phase I award for an AMD feasibility study

PerZeption said the National Eye Institute awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research grant for a study of achromatic and chromatic photostress recovery in age-related macular degeneration. The project will use PerZeption's AIM platform with researchers at UC Irvine.

The work aims to establish feasibility and support a regulatory pathway. The announcement did not disclose the grant amount or establish clinical validation.

Saturday volume rises from last week

JobReports added 485 active biotechnology and pharmaceutical opportunities from 76 employers between midnight Eastern and today's cutoff. That is 86.5% above the 260 opportunities in the comparable Saturday window one week earlier. Commercial and business was the largest named role family, followed by clinical and medical work.

These are active opportunities first captured by JobReports before cutoff, not employer-supplied posting times. Role-family and location classifications are directional. The hiring sample is independent of today's news announcements and does not imply those companies created these jobs.

The takeaway

Dose selection and operating agreements move distinct programs toward execution.

SystImmune's Phase 3 dose selection points toward registrational execution. Cosmos' manufacturing agreement, Accuray and RaySearch's platform collaboration, and PerZeption's feasibility award create separate operational workstreams without establishing new hiring. Today's verified openings offer a separate route into process development, trial documentation, regulatory leadership, quality, and drug-safety operations.
