Oncology / Phase 3

Tam-Peli improves overall survival in a Phase 3 small-cell lung cancer study

Roche collaborator MediLink reported results from TAISHAN-302, a randomized Phase 3 study of Tam-Peli versus topotecan in 451 people with relapsed small-cell lung cancer across 85 sites in China. Median overall survival was 13.3 months with Tam-Peli and 9.4 months with topotecan, with a hazard ratio of 0.46 and p<0.0001.

Median progression-free survival was 7.4 months versus 2.8 months, and objective response rates were 59.1% versus 9.7%. Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events occurred in 46.4% and 74.7% of patients, respectively. Roche holds development and commercialization rights outside mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao and said it plans to initiate a global Phase 3 study rapidly.

Why it matters

The survival result adds randomized evidence for a B7-H3 antibody-drug conjugate and shifts attention toward global trial execution, regulatory planning, safety, biometrics, and oncology development. It is not an announcement of new hiring.

Sunday volume rises from last week

JobReports added 494 active biotechnology and pharmaceutical opportunities from 27 employers between midnight Eastern and today's cutoff. That is 75.2% above the 282 opportunities in the comparable Sunday window one week earlier. Manufacturing and operations was the largest named role family, followed closely by clinical and medical work.

These are active opportunities first captured by JobReports before cutoff, not employer-supplied posting times. Role-family and location classifications are directional. The hiring sample is independent of today's news announcement and does not imply Roche or MediLink created these jobs.

The takeaway

Randomized oncology evidence meets a broad Sunday hiring pulse.

Tam-Peli's Phase 3 results point toward global trial, regulatory, safety, biometrics, and development work without establishing new hiring. Today's independently verified openings offer a separate route into discovery biology, quality, manufacturing, alliance management, and clinical operations.
